I hate when sites tell you just to search for Anti-Virus or security programs because (I am assuming for legal reasons of sounding like they prefer one over the other) they can't list them.

The danger with that is you will find in search engines a lot of fake security programs that actually install malware (Malicious Software) on your computer!!

Here is one that someone got in email and is talked about on PhishTank:

The only way to protect yourself is to arm yourself with knowledge. When you relax and expect others to protect you, they usually drop the ball. So this is why I do what I do.

You can see by the first post how they try to trick people who do not actually know the names and are going by what they heard a friend talk about. They will fall for the mispelling and trust the wrong site spelled as Macfee.... which it is really McAfee..

ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO ANY SPELLING DIFFERENCES IN THE ADDRESS BAR OR URL / LINK YOU ARE TOLD ABOUT!

Search in a search engine for Anti-Virus Free will result in some links being dangerous such as these listed on McAfee SiteAdvisor:

www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/freevirusprotection.org
www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/free-antivirus.info

(Even though personally I found no issue with freevirusprotection.org I find it best to go directly to each site itself as that is safer and up to date. To me it just redirects to pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer.html).
