I have seen a number of hacked Yahoo Email Accounts sending out spam to all their contacts lately. I have had 4 people around me have that happen to them. 2 of these people are never online so they are not even aware that their account is spamming their friends.. What can YOU do if your account has been hacked? First see if you can log in and change your password and secret question (both need to be done at the same time) and make sure that your secret question is strong. Also make sure that it is unique because if you used that same password on any other sites, guess what? Spammers now have it and every other site you used that password on is no longer safe and is like you just locked your door but put the key on the welcome mat. Make sure you are doing this from a clean computer (no keyloggers!). Also if you are still sending out spam but you can get into your account, send out an email to your contacts telling them to ignore all emails from you until you get this fixed and tell them to NOT click on any strange links as they are NOT from you personally! If you are still sending out spam you need to let Yahoo know so that you can get their help. Click this link: help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/security/general.htmlAnd select from the drop down menu "Spam emails are being sent to my contacts from my account"They will help you gain control of your email again.
