How do you know if a hacker has stolen and even SOLD your login information for your email account? This is important as hackers then can sell to anyone who can then use your email account to spam others, tarnish your name, and even start scams in your name keeping their own scammy self in the clear. You can check if your email account has become compromised at any time in the past and even get notified in the future at: haveibeenpwned.com/I checked and 2 of mine have been compromised in the past due to websites I had registered on. One email was affected by the Syrian Electronic Army hacks ( yes, seriously) and the other was a hacker posted all the hacked information on a bitcoin site (not sure for selling them or to show off). Since then the passwords as well as the security information has been changed. It is important to change more than just the password as many times hackers can get back in through the "lost password" door via your security information. Also it is important to check your settings to make sure that your emails and changes are not being sent to the hacker's email address.
